Anselm Lwali- Hospitality Consultant
Born in tourism robust Kenya, hospitality has always been at the forefront of Anselm’s heritage, upbringing and personality. The service-oriented culture in Kenya, nurtured his early passion for the industry as did his experience working alongside diverse tourists visiting the country to enjoy the wonders of the African nature.
Anselm attended Drury University in Springfield Missouri where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance. He later pursued a master’s in international business in Mexico City.
Anselm’s hospitality career began at a catering company where he worked in various Food and Beverage positions during his college years, coming up the ranks to Banquets Manager through his dedication and keen understanding of customer service.
While pursuing his Master’s program in Mexico City, he was introduced to the “Rooms” division of hospitality where he delved deeper into the ins and outs of hotel operations from property management to strategic planning.
On his return to the U.S, he joined the Four Seasons Hotel which laid a solid foundation in providing ‘one of’ experiences to discerning guests backed by focused training and expertise in luxury hospitality.
In 2024, after gaining valuable experience in various operational roles in the Rooms Division, Anselm transitioned into hospitality consulting. He founded his consultancy firm, “Lwali Consulting” with the goal of helping hotels enhance their guest experiences and increase operational efficiency. His approach combined data-driven analysis with an emphasis on personalized service, ensuring that each client could create memorable experiences for their guests.
Anselm’s innovative strategies have led numerous Hotels and brands to significant improvements in customer satisfaction, revenue generation and expense control. He is known for implementing advanced technology solutions in service operations, including mobile check-in systems and guest feedback tools, that streamline processes and increase engagement.
Anselm’s experience working with boutique hotels, city and luxury resorts across the United States and internationally have made him a sought-out industry personality in sharing trends, best practices, insights and innovative approaches to challenging efficiency and effectiveness needs across the industry.
Apart from his consulting work, Anselm is passionate about giving back to the community. He actively supports initiatives aimed at workforce development within the hospitality industry, mentoring young professionals. He frequently collaborates with local organizations to host workshops and seminars, empowering the next generation of hospitality leaders.
Anselm resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new cuisines, watching and playing soccer and participating in outdoor activities. He is also an avid reader, often choosing books that inspire creativity and innovation in service design.
